Chimney Inspections

Whether you are buying a new home or are just concerned about the condition of your current fireplace and chimney, Sweep-A-Chim is here to help. We offer two levels of inspections: Level 1 and Level 2. A level 1 visual inspection is provided with every sweep and inspects readily accessible areas around the fireplace. Our inspections cover the general condition, cleanliness, and clearances for the following chimney aspects (but are not limited to): venting, fireplace and internal components (damper, smoke chamber, grate, etc.), appliances (where applicable), and hearth and hearth extension sizing. In addition, when getting on the roof is necessary for servicing the fireplace and venting, the level 1 will also include general condition of the rain cap/spark guard and the chimney crown/wash! A level 2 inspection includes all aspect of a level 1 inspection but goes even deeper and includes using a camera to inspect accessible portions of the chimney exterior and interior including: attics, basements, etc. A level 2 should be performed anytime the sale/transfer of property has occurred or in the event of a chimney fire/thermal shock.
